Fish Finder II

This Sunday I went fishing on the Fish Finder II out of Captree State Park on Long Island. It was the first time I had been on that boat.  I went out with my Uncle Rich and his nephew (who by the way is older than me) Keith.  We had a great time picking on each other like is always that case with my family. There was dad there who had both of his daughters one was Katie she was maybe 4 years old and I don’t know the name of the older daughter who was probably about 8.  It was awesome! The crew would bring the stuff that was caught over for them to see and they loved it whether it was a skate, sand shark or just a flounder they had a blast and they fished the whole time.
I know from what my mom has told me that I was out fishing on charter boats when I was that age however I don’t remember it.  Those girls were so excited to be spending the day on the water fishing with their dad I just loved it so did the two girls that were about my age who were on the crew.  I’ve grown up with the love of the ocean, fishing and Fluke because of my Poppy and Uncle Richie.  They spoiled me! Skiing all winter and hanging out on the beach and fishing all summer. And they wonder why I don’t want to get a real job!
Spending the time on the boat with my poppy and my uncle and now just my uncle is still a blast it’s the only thing that I have in common with him well beyond the fact that I’m related to him.  For a girl who was born and raised in the Green Mountain State and will most likely never leave I LOVE the ocean and fishing.  All because of them!
If you know me you know that I talk A LOT and while that’s all fine and dandy when I’m on the water and have my line in the water I’m actually silent next to running it’s the only place that this happens. It’s zen for me and I miss it. Just like I miss Nanny and Poppy.
