Today was my first day
as the substitute gym teacher and boy was it an adventure. As was the case with 6th
grad and getting a new respect for Mrs. Kalher ( I’m sorry I still can’t spell
your name right) I have a new respect for Mr. Labella! I had a 5th grade
class of 19 they remind me of my class just plain nuts! Constant running back
and forth, 40 mins with each class no break in between from 8:20-11:40. The best
was when I was teaching 4th grade and the teams just didn’t end up
fair at all! Team 1 was just killing team 3 to the point that one kid Zach
decided that he wasn’t going to let his teammates go after the ball until it
was at the half court line. This didn’t make his teammates too happy but I was
like YAY!! Those parents and coaches he has have done a great job! Then I sat down with two of his teammate
and asked them how they would feel if they were getting their butts kicked like
that and that seemed to make them understand a little at least. Back on Wednesday for day 2 of 3 with
the adventure of having the 6th grade again… scared…. But I know
what they are like now! :) I’m liking subbing still not sure that teaching is
for me though…
